Pinocchia in the Drowning Trick crosses genres and forms–lyric and prose poems, ancestral autobiography, and a fantasy novelette sonnet crown–to retell the fairy tale of Pinocchio. I wrote this book as one attempt to remake the illusive fantasy of internalized empire, and in the hope that one day, all will be transformed in the service of care.
